GUIDING PRINCIPLES
We believe that members who embrace the ECC’s Mission statement and the Statement of Faith should be pursuing an experience of church life that is marked by the following principles:
**We value a Christ-centered Preaching**
Christ is the Head of the Church; thus, we make Him known to our community. He alone is the center of our preaching that people may hear who He really is, why He came to earth, and that they may come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which men can be saved but through Jesus Christ alone.
**We value a Bible-centered teaching**
The Bible is God’s inerrant word that contains truths and a daily guide for practical living. The truth is only one generation away from extinction. For if one generation fails to pass the truth on to the next, then it implies its death is imminent. Our commitment is to teach the Bible, verse by verse, that we may teach the whole counsel of God.
**We value a Spirit-filled Worship**
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth. Worship is wholly dependent upon the leading and direction of the Holy Spirit. It is neither dictated by location nor tradition but by understanding the character of God through His word. And to have such knowledge is entirely the work of the Holy Spirit that He carries out into our hearts. It is in Spirit and in truth that we are transformed into true worshipers. We value worship just as much as we value His Word.
**We value a Spirit-empowered Service**
To be somebody before God is to be a nobody before the eyes of men. Servanthood can best be embraced by being filled with the Holy Spirit. Every spiritual gift comes from God, given for the purpose of equipping the church. We encourage, engage, and empower every believer to discover and dispense his/her gift for the work of the ministry.
**We value a Love-motivated fellowship**
Our personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ manifests itself through our fellowship with the brethren.
**We value a truth-centered Discipline**
God’s word is truth. Nothing could be more effective in rebuking, correcting, and training than God’s word. To be grounded in the truth is to renew the mind and heart of every believer and be more Christ-like.
